So you don’t feel like practicing again today huh? Well any musician feels like that at times and a major contributing factor is feeling like you are not getting anywhere when you do practice. Read on for some great ideas to get you from zero to hero.
5 Tips for rapid improvement
- Don’t pack up your violin everyday. Leave it out in a safe spot so you can just pick it up and play.
- Work on tiny chunks of your pieces i.e. one bar at a time until those lazy fingers start to do what they are told.
- Start from different sections of your piece so that you are not always practicing the beginning twenty or thirty more times than the later parts.
- Listen to a recording of an expert playing it beautifully until you can hum along to the section you want to practice with perfect intonation and pitch.
- Put your phone on silent and leave it in another room.
